2014: Electricity
After completing the construction of the well, our original goal, we had leftover funds, which motivated us to take on another project. Recognizing that many homes in the village lacked electricity, we decided to install lights in the school to improve the children’s ability to study. Without electricity, the kids struggled to do their homework after sunset (during which there is no natural light), but providing power to the school meant they could return in the evenings for extra study time.
Though the project seemed straightforward, it required thoughtful planning. We coordinated with local electricians and community members to ensure the installation was safe and sustainable. The results were transformative—students now had a dedicated space to continue their education after dark. What started as a simple idea became a powerful tool in enhancing the children’s learning experience. This project marked a significant step in our commitment to improving educational opportunities in the village.
